Palm Beach in Frederikshavn started as an idea from two commune workers. They wanted to add something new to the city, and they decided to create Frederikshavn’s own Caribbean adventure. In 2004 they added the first palms to the beach and since then they have added new palms every year. The beach is known all over Denmark and Scandinavia.
Pikkerbakken is the highest point of Frederikshavn (71 meters above sea level). It has an observation platform in the shape of Skagens gren, the northernmost point of Jutland. The platform gives a view of the town and if it is a cloud-free day you might be able to see Skagen, Sæby, and Læsø from Pikkerbakken. It is also an excellent area for mountain biking.
Frederikshavn is after many years of industrial decline started to become a town of development again.
